about

The Venus Auditorium was created when the two friends Almina and Alex realized that, since that time when they shared a roof during the pandemic days, they had both discovered the same thing:

the practice of writing had proven to be the deepest spiritual practice either of them had ever known.

They found writing to be the portal where they and the world were one. It had liberated them - as creators, as women and as simply themselves.

When they had first sat down to write together back in those pandemic days, something unexpected happened: Two women who hardly yet knew each other, opened a portal together. A portal for listening, for wisdom and insight to come through. What is different now is that we know that this portal is always there waiting for us, when we’re alone, but even more so when we’re together!

In Alex’s words:

“We can do this sacred listening on our own, but when we do it together the portal is amplified, as if the Goddess cannot resist us when we join together. ”

Are you curious about writing? Maybe you love writing but have a hard time making time for it? Are you interested in what a shared writing space can do for your writing?

MY WHY

I created The Venus Auditorium because the pathway from writing to publishing felt jarring to me — performance-oriented, intimidating, and out of reach. At the same time, in my work with women, I kept discovering something remarkable: the words I most needed to hear were often hidden in women’s private journals.

I longed for a gentle and authentic pathway to publishing for my own writing. And I began to feel that those hidden voices—held quietly in notebooks and journals—deserved to be part of the larger conversation about our collective life on this planet.

I believe women’s voices and ways are essential to bringing this world into greater balance and wholeness. When women gather to witness and celebrate one another’s stories and medicine, something powerful begins to happen. We start to loosen the stories that were placed upon us and remember who we are and what we are capable of.

Almina writes personally on Substack under the name Almina Marie Meadowlark.

MY WHY

When women gather to write together, something in me inevitably catches fire. I've experienced it countless times now, in both virtual and physical rooms. I feel deeply indebted to the women who have created these spaces for me to blossom within, and I am excited to lean into facilitating similar such spaces for others with Venus Auditorium.

My sense is that when we write together, we create a vortex through which something greater than us can visit the earthly realm, infusing a sense of magic, beauty, and truth. I am enamored with this alchemy – that all we have to do is listen, and trust our ability to listen, and let our pens move across the page. In doing so, we give permission to be used as vessels, and then we get to rise up in the wake of having felt that miracle take place through us.
